You’ll receive PokCoins only after your Pokmon returns from the Gym, and youll receive an in-game notification with the amount of PokCoins earned. You can also check tap Main Menu
When you’ve earned 50 PokCoins for the day, you can’t earn any more until the next day. If you have more than one Pokmon return from Gyms in a single day, the maximum bonus for the day is still limited to 50 PokCoins. Even if a Pokmon returns to a Gym after being absent for multiple days, the daily maximum bonus will still be 50 PokCoins.
As of this writing, leaving your Pokemon to defend your team’s gyms is the only way to earn Coins without spending any of your own money. To begin, select a gym that shares your team’s color. There’s a button in the bottom right of the screen that looks like a Pokeball with a plus sign clicking on that will bring up your Pokemon storage so that you can choose a Pokemon to leave in this gym.
Remember… You can only put fully-healed Pokemon into a Gym, and you can’t have two of the same Pokemon in there (so if there’s already a Milotic in the gym, you can’t put in your Milotic).
Gyms hold a maximum of six Pokemon
Which Pokemon do you give up?
There are two factors you should consider when deciding which Pokemon to put in a gym:
1. What is its defence stat? You’ll want to choose a Pokemon with high defence since they’ll last longer against attacks from other teams.
And secondly, what kinds of people are already there? Add a grass-type Pokemon to the gym if it consists mostly of water- and fire-type Pokemon.
How soon do you anticipate the gym being occupied by a large group of people? You may not want to put a powerful Pokemon in it if the answer is yes (for example, if it is in a high-traffic, downtown area), as you will waste more revives if the Pokemon is evicted.
