Which Pokemon do you give up?

There are two factors you should consider when deciding which Pokemon to put in a gym:

1. What is its defence stat? You’ll want to choose a Pokemon with high defence since they’ll last longer against attacks from other teams.

And secondly, what kinds of people are already there? Add a grass-type Pokemon to the gym if it consists mostly of water- and fire-type Pokemon.

How soon do you anticipate the gym being occupied by a large group of people? You may not want to put a powerful Pokemon in it if the answer is yes (for example, if it is in a high-traffic, downtown area), as you will waste more revives if the Pokemon is evicted.
