Donnie Wahlberg wife: Donnie Wahlberg was born Donald Edmond Wahlberg Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 17, 1969. He grew up in Dorchester, a predominantly Irish-American neighborhood. Donnie is the eighth child of Donald and Alma, a teamster and delivery truck driver. Mark Wahlberg, his younger brother, is also an actor, singer, and producer. Wahlberg is distantly connected to Nathaniel Hawthorne via his mother. When Donnie was a child, the family was close and attended church together every Sunday.

Having such a large family did not come without complications; the siblings frequently quarreled, and the family was often broke. When Donnie was 12 years old, their parents divorced. He and Mark chose to live with their mother, while the rest of their siblings were either adults or had moved in with their father.

When Donnie entered elementary school in the 1970s, Boston was mired in controversy over mandatory busing to enforce desegregation in public schools. Wahlberg was bused to the predominantly African American William Monroe Trotter School for nearly an hour each day. Wahlberg acquired a strong affinity for soul and rap music, both popular among his African American acquaintances. Michael Jackson was his childhood hero.

Wahlberg recalls being bused to school as one of the best things that ever happened to him and his career, as he spent his afternoons on the bus composing rap lyrics with his closest friends–his biggest influences. Jenny McCarthy of The Masked Singer and Donnie Walhberg of Blue Bloods have discovered the secret to making their marriage work.

While these celebrities are well-known to fans of their respective shows, how many people know how they met? During Wahlberg’s March 2013 appearance on The Jenny McCarthy Show, the couple met, where the soon-to-be couple exchanged some seriously saucy innuendos on air. McCarthy and Seacrest made their relationship public in July of that year when McCarthy presented Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

McCarthy and Wahlberg both had children from past relationships: she has a 19-year-old son Evan with ex-husband director and actor John Asher, and he has two boys with ex-wife Kim Fey: Xavier, 28, and Elijah, 20. Evan was there when Wahlberg proposed in 2014.

Donnie was one of pop music’s earliest prototypical “bad boys.” NKOTB sold tens of millions of records and more than $400 million in merchandise during their peak years. When NKOTB’s popularity waned in the early 1990s, Donnie assisted Mark in launching his rap career. Donnie co-wrote and produced Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s platinum-certified first album “Music for the People.” Donnie subsequently embarked on a career as an actor.

Donnie reunited with former NKOTB members for a 2008 reunion album, The Block. It debuted at the top of the Billboard charts. They promoted the record by touring the globe. Donnie and the rest of NKOTB appeared on 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men’s Package Tour in 2013.
