One vehicle at a time can dock in the Moonpool, which is accessed by driving close to the base of the structure. As soon as the vehicle enters the access area, robotic arms will extend to pluck it out of the water and secure it for charging while a brief animation of Ryley exiting the vehicle plays in the background. The player may now access the vehicle’s upgrade slots and cargo storage, perform repairs, or re-enter the vehicle before it is automatically released back into the water. They can also reach the Power Cells on the shoulders of a Prawn Suit, though to reach the Power Cell on a Seamoth, they’ll need to take a quick dip.

A scan of two Moonpool Fragments will grant access to the Blueprint for the Moonpool. You can get these in the Wrecks or the Mushroom Forest.

However, vehicles can only be docked at the Moonpool if the Seabase it is attached to is powered (except in Creative Mode). However, it has the ability to free powerless vehicles. When a vehicle is docked, the base’s Energy can be used to recharge the Power Cells in the vehicle. Docking a Prawn Suit and exchanging its two Power Cells (which the player still has full access to) at a Moonpool is preferable to constructing a Power Cell Charger because of the faster charging rate at a Moonpool. One Moonpool requires at least 150 Energy, or two Solar Panels, to charge a vehicle reliably.
