It allowed him to concentrate fully on coaching his team. But that doesn’t mean Saban doesn’t deserve respect on occasion. Indeed, he does. On the other hand, success tends to encourage complacency. A refocused response is common among top players who aim to win multiple championships. Because of this, individuals and teams pose a significant threat. This week, the Crimson Tide are the team you want to avoid facing.
A mere week after their stunning victory over Texas A&M, Alabama will travel to face Mississippi State on the road. It’s probably not a good week to be a Bulldog.
Consider only recent history to see this for yourself. Whenever Saban has been able to bounce back and win the following game after suffering a defeat, he has. The last time Alabama lost two in a row was in 2013 when they were beaten by Oklahoma in the Iron Bowl and a bowl game. Since his first season as head coach in 2007, Saban has yet to suffer a losing streak of more than one game in the regular season. There were two losing streaks of two games and four games that year for the Tide.
