Instead of having your IHSS/WPCS paycheck mailed to you, you can sign up for Direct Deposit and have it deposited directly into your bank account or loaded onto a pay card. A pay card is a prepaid debit card that can be used for online shopping, cash withdrawals, and direct deposits. Figure out how to use direct deposit and pay cards.
When payments are made via direct deposit, there is no way for a provider’s check to get stolen out of their mailbox or lost in the mail. If service providers don’t have to wait for the paper warrant to arrive in the mail, they may be able to access their payments sooner.
Current IHSS/WPCS providers in all California counties can now enroll, make changes, or opt out of direct deposit via the CDSS IHSS ESP website, eliminating the need for paper forms. In order to enroll in CDSS, you can either fill out the online form or download a paper version.
