Over the years, I’ve purchased many pairs of glasses from Goggles4u. I’ve helped many close friends and relatives make purchases there. Many more than fifty, in my estimation. Even though my prescription wasn’t bifocal, I still have a case from when they were just starting out. Soft cases were included with the shipment of at least some of them. As you can see, this was before they started using electronic records to keep track of customers’ orders and doctors’ prescriptions. That got a thumbs up from me for sure.
Anyway, whenever I go shoe shopping, I always end up with two pairs: one for the office and one for dressier occasions. The first day I wore these two pairs to work, I received several deep scratches. There is nothing on my end that could have caused this. It’s been 32 years since I stopped doing the same thing. It was as if the lens coatings I had purchased were absent. This served as a reminder that I needed to treat my dress shoes with the utmost care. More and more scratches every day; I’d have to wear my dress shoes soon.
This week, while cleaning the lenses, I noticed that the weld that normally secures the frame to the body had come loose. As a result of the tension, the lens’s frame is drawn inward by about 3/8 inch. For over thirty-five years, I’ve needed corrective lenses.
I have had some pairs of glasses from Goggles4U last for two years, and I have had others last for just one. The last two pairs I bought each lasted for only 4 months, and one set arrived with the left lens broken. Each new pair costs more than the last, and they don’t seem to last as long. It’s possible that it’s time to find a new source for your eyewear.

Two of the three pairs I ordered met my expectations, but the prescription sunglasses I also purchased only came with non-prescription lenses.
When I tried to exchange them for a new pair with the right lenses, customer service told me to take a picture of the glasses in direct sunlight to “prove” I had received the wrong lenses.
