Drew Robinson wife: Drew Elliott Robinson (born April 20, 1992) is a professional baseball player for the San Francisco Giants in the infield and outfield positions. He was picked in the fourth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft by the Texas Rangers. He has appeared in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Texas Rangers and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Drew Robinson blasted his first home run of the minor league baseball season on Tuesday night for the Sacramento River Cats, the San Francisco Giants’ triple-A club.

The majestic home run was the outfielder’s first since returning to baseball after a life-altering catastrophe. Robinson will miss the whole of the 2020 season after a botched suicide attempt in April, during which he lost his right eye.

“I still have a lot of work to do,” Robinson told 8 News NOW Las Vegas in an interview. “I am aware that this is an ongoing struggle with certain dark ideas, but I have come so far in 13 months that it fascinates me.”

Robinson’s historic home run came prophetically in his hometown of Las Vegas, where he attempted suicide with a gunshot to the head, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.

Despite realizing his boyhood ambition of playing professional baseball, Robinson suffered mental pain as a youngster due to his parent’s divorce.

“We were all terrible at managing our emotions,” Robinson said to Pasan. “And this resulted in considerable tension and internal conflict. I believe we all had this idealised view of the ideal family and similar concepts. When it fell short of that, we began to really doubt everything we were doing.”

Robinson batted.286 with a.406 on-base percentage in 44 games with the Arizona League Rangers in 2010. He split 2011 with the Arizona League Rangers and the Spokane Indians, batting.200 with four home runs and 30 RBI in 51 games. Robinson batted.273 with a.409 on-base percentage for the Hickory Crawdads in 2012, hitting 13 home runs with 67 RBI, ten steals, and 86 walks in 123 games. That year, he earned his first Player of the Week accolade.

Robinson batted.257 in 122 games with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans in 2013, earning another Player of the Week accolade. In 2014, Robinson batted.198 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI in 96 games with the Frisco RoughRiders and Round Rock Express; in his first taste of Triple-A, he batted.304/.467/.522 with one home run and five RBI in eight games.

Robinson overcame the obstacles and established himself as a top baseball prospect at Silverado High School. He was chosen by the Texas Rangers in the fourth round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft and spent six years in the minors before joining the Rangers’ 2017 opening-day roster.

After two seasons in Texas, Robinson signed with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2018. His season was cut short by Tommy John surgery on his left elbow, and the Cardinals released him in August.

Robinson was later signed to a minor-league deal by the San Francisco Giants in October 2019 after his recovery from surgery. Nonetheless, his looming suicide attempt six months later forced him to miss another year of baseball.

Robinson awakened with a detached eyeball after surviving the tragedy. He quickly dialed 911, and doctors saved his life by removing his eye and replacing it with a prosthesis. He still had a long road ahead of returning to baseball, and his priority was to manage his mental health.

Robinson was hospitalized for five days after the event. Therapy and medicine were an integral part of Robinson’s new routine as he made his way back from recovery over the following few months.
