Bush Cordless Handstick Vacuum Cleaner Review: Deal with dust and dander with the Bush cordless stick vacuum cleaner. It is suitable for all floor surfaces and is the ideal companion for cleaning your entire home in a single session. Is the dust bin up to capacity? Simply empty out the container, without the hassle of replacing bags. And you won’t miss a spot with the multi-filtration system, as it locks in even the smallest particles.
Prevent mid-clean stop-starts with the handy Eco mode, which gives you 45 minutes of extra time. While nobody jumps to pick up the vacuum and start cleaning, cordless vacuum cleaners make the whole ordeal a little bit more bearable. In addition to being incredibly convenient for quick cleaning jobs, they are capable of handling the majority of dirt spillages without the need to drag the cumbersome Henry out from under the stairs.
The problem is that there are so many fantastic handheld vacuum cleaners on the market that it can be difficult to choose the one that is right for you and your needs. While the majority of cordless vacuums appear to be the same, not all of them are created equal. This is where we come to the rescue – we’ve rounded up the best handheld and cordless vacuum cleaners you can buy right now.
The brand new Dyson V15 Detect quite literally shines a new light on household cleaning problems. The latest vacuum model from the eponymous brand has built-in laser detect technology which allows you to see dust particles invisible to the naked eye. In our test, we were equally alarmed(!) and impressed with how much dust showed up in the light, even after doing a first clean with our standard vacuum. The green laser in the V15 is integrated into the fluffy cleaner head, making it ideal for hardwood and laminate flooring.
Five extra heads are supplied, including an anti-tangle brush head. Another game-changer is the use of this technology, which allows hair to be sucked up easily into the see-through dust canister without becoming entangled and tangled around the brush barrel. Tediously pulling hair out from your vacuum brush will be a thing of the past!
A new LCD screen at the top of the V15’s dust barrel lets you see exactly what you’re sucking up, including food, pollen and dust mites. This screen doesn’t contribute much to the cleaning experience but may be of some interest to allergy sufferers who’d want to know how much dust and pollen they have in their house.
The V15 Detect utilises the Dyson Hyperdymium engine which produces up to 240 air watts of suction. There are three different suction power settings available: Eco, Auto, and Boost. The basic auto setting offered about 45 minutes of steady cleaning time, which was more than enough for our tester’s four-room, carpeted apartment. Boost mode, however, provided only 25 minutes of vacuuming time, but clearly boosted the suction levels for an even deeper clean. Eco mode, on the other end of the spectrum, offered us almost an hour extra cleaning time.
When you move between various suction modes, the vacuum provides battery life predictions in minutes, which vary depending on which mode is being utilized. This is a great additional function. With all of this suction strength, the gadget is remarkably silent, and when you remove the power trigger, it emits a gratifying ‘boing effect’ sound (reminiscent of a lightsaber for any Star Wars aficionados out there).
With a variety of attachments, you’ll be prepared to tackle any difficult nook or corner you come across. With the crevice tool, work your way along the side of the couch. Or make your curtains look their best with the convenient upholstery nozzle.
