Analogue Pocket Review: For ROMs is not the Analog Bag. The pouch is now available to order for $199.99, starting at 8 AM PST, on August 3, from now on. The portable will play the original Game Boi, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance cartridges and will also be compatible with different adapters (11 AM EST). However, the actual date of ship is not long after that: Analog estimates that in May 2021 the hardware can finally start to be shipped to clients.
The Analog Pocket promised an unbelievable retro game player when first released last year, and maybe the best game boy ever. It was planned for 2020. This is a bummer for those hoping for more play distractions this year indoors – now the date has gone back to 2021 – but pre-orders are opened on August 3.
In its news release today, Analogue said that the launch delay until Mai 2021 “due to the unfortunate global state of affairs and supply chain challenges outside of our control,” Analogue’s earlier gaming devices, including the Super NT, were great devices for people who had the original cartridges.
